An Egyptian Ship Held Together By Grass (No Joking!)

Today we learned about Pharaoh Khufu's amazing ship, which was buried at the foot of the Great Pyramid.

The ship was meant to carry Khufu, after his death, on his daily journey through the heavens, along with the Sun God Ra.

---------------

A number of great questions today, including:

Lisa: Why did the civilization of ancient Egypt eventually collapse?  What caused the collapse?

(Lisa's question is especially relevant for historians who want to learn lessons -- from ancient Egypt and other great civilizations -- that could be applied to the civilizations of today)

Bertie: What is the origin of the name "Egypt"?

Lia: Was ancient China the ideal place to live?

Emma and Lucas M.: How did archaeologists actually get Khufu's ship out of the ground?

Here's a colorful depiction of Ra, found in a temple outside Giza. What adjectives would you use to describe Ra?
